TQS evaluation process

TQS services are available to:

1. teachers who hold or are eligible to hold a teaching certificate in Alberta;

2. teachers who hold or are eligible to hold another teaching authority in Alberta; 

3. a student teacher who is eligible for certification based on advanced standing.

 

Step 1 - Find out if you are eligible to teach in Alberta.

Step 2 - Complete Application

Complete a TQS Salary Evaluation Application including:

1. Evidence of a valid Alberta teaching authority; 

2. Official transcripts from each educational institution you attended; 

3. Evidence of any name change.

Step 3 - Submit Original Application and Fee to the TQS office

Staff will not process emailed or faxed information. 

Review processing begins when all TQS staff receive all the required documentation. 


Fees

Within Alberta $100

Outside Alberta $150

Duplicate $75

Certified copy of transcript on file $25


Payment Options: 

Cheque or money order in Canadian funds. Payable to the The Alberta Teachers’ Association. 

Cash for walk-in applicants. 

Credit cards. 

A $20 fee applies to all discontinued applications and applied to future applications. 

 

To ensure the shortest wait time: 

1. Make sure your application is complete and the fee paid. 

2. Make sure you include your original official transcripts.

3. Make sure you include transcripts from all the universities you attended.
