Tale End—October 20, 2026

How can I address algorithms and artificial intelligence in the classroom? How can students trust what they see online? Is the house hippo real (if you know, you know)?
The last week of October is the 21st annual Media Literacy Week, an opportunity for teachers, parents and communities to support students’ understanding of and ability to navigate digital spaces. Hosted nationwide by MediaSmarts, the week promotes digital literacy and encourages everyone to build the skills required to think critically about what we see online.
Teachers can access resources, including plug-and-play video lessons, in the Media Literacy Week Teachers’ Hub at mediasmarts.ca/mlw-teachers-hub.
