Indigenous Education PD facilitators coach members on Indigenous-focused competencies. They present Walking Together: Education for Reconciliation workshops.
Facilitators
- develop relationships with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers and Cultural Advisors;
- honour cultural protocols; and
- share Indigenous expertise.
Workload and Activities
- Present 7 to 10 workshops throughout the year
- Attend ATA training sessions, Professional Development Area Conferences and Summer Conference
- Support members in Indigenous education and cultural protocols
- Support members developing relationships with local Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers and Cultural Advisors
Eligibility
You must
- have an active or associate ATA membership in good standing,
- have five-plus years of teaching experience and
- hold a current Alberta teaching certificate.
