Status Update: Building Closure and Members Only Page

Members' Update

*Barnett House Closure Update*

On Friday, July 10, severe weather resulted in the flooding of the ATA’s main office building, Barnett House, in Edmonton. The majority of the water has been removed from the affected areas, and damage assessment and reclamation of the key electrical systems impacted by the flooding are ongoing. At present, the building’s electrical infrastructure is unable to provide a suitable work environment, and staff have consequently transitioned to working from home. We should have a better understanding of the condition of the affected areas in the coming weeks.

For the time being, Association operations shall continue as usual. All staff are working and will be providing regular service to members online, by phone or, when necessary, in person.

Our Southern Alberta Regional Office (SARO) in Calgary is unaffected by this issue, and staff will be conducting business as usual.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward the reopening of Barnett House.

Access to “Members Only” page

To better serve ATA members, we are upgrading “MyATA” to a new platform with improved performance and security. A temporary page has been put in place to bridge the transition and is protected by the same security standards as the previous site.

We remind members to update their bookmarked link to the “MyATA” page to https://teachers.ab.ca/myata/home. Outdated links will be redirected to the ATA website’s main page.

Unfortunately, the temporary “MyATA” page will not be able to provide the following services:

  • Printing of membership cards
  • Updating profile information
  • Signing up for council memberships
  • Leave of absence payments
  • Viewing member lists
  • Accessing old Women in Leadership webinars
  • TQS applications (and payment)

Members are now required to call or email the ATA for the above changes. Questions regarding cards or profile updates can be directed to Membership Support at 1-855-407-3891 or membership@ata.ab.ca.
