Due to severe flooding in July, Barnett House will remain closed until early 2027.
The ATA Library is still open and providing resources to members.
Staff are working from home and continue to serve members online and by phone.
The Southern Alberta Regional Office (SARO) in Calgary is unaffected and conducts business per usual.
The ATA Magazine took home a gold and silver award at the annual Alberta Magazine Awards hosted by the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) on Sept. 17.
The gold award came in the illustration category for a depiction of teacher Kristine Hinton, which appeared in the Unsung Hero section of the winter 2025 issue. The illustration was created by freelance illustrator Rachel Wada under the art direction of ATA graphic designer Alexa Guse. It’s the second consecutive year the magazine has earned top honours in this award category.
The magazine also came away with a silver award in the feature design category for the design of a story collection called “The ATA is You!” published in spring 2025. The design was created by Guse along with ATA supervising designer Erin Solano.
“Among ATA staff, it’s well-known that our team of designers consistently delivers brilliant, creative work,” said Elissa Corsi, the magazine’s editor-in-chief. “These awards provide the world a glimpse of what we’ve known internally for years.”
