The mission of the ATA News is to
- provide quality reporting and analysis of education news in Alberta and elsewhere;
- inform members of major ATA policy decisions; and
- report on the activities of teachers, locals and the ATA.
The ATA News is a member of the Canadian Educational Press Association.

The ATA Magazine (ISSN 0380-9102) is published three times a year (fall, winter and spring).

The mission of the ATA Magazine is to
- reinforce that the ATA is the education authority in the province,
- help teachers understand broader issues in public education,
- help teachers maintain and improve their teaching practice, and
- help teachers connect with their colleagues.
Each issue carries educational and professional articles, editorial commentary, regular and special features, and a column from the president.
The ATA Magazine, which has been published continuously since 1920, is a member of the Canadian Educational Press Association.

Letters to the editor
The ATA News reserves the right to edit letters for length.
Articles
Articles should be 500 words or less. Articles are evaluated for originality, readability and interest to teachers. The editors reserve the right to edit articles for publication.
Photos
The ATA News welcomes photos of teacher, student and school activities. Photographs that depict action are best. Ensure that photos are sharply focused. Include a caption, along with the names of the photographer and contacts.
